Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to smoothly increase a vehicle speed when a vehicle starts by judging vehicle loading and engine power through application of minute engaging force and carrying out the initial clutch control. CONSTITUTION:Signals from a clutch driving shaft turning sensor 20, a driven shaft sensor 40, a throttle opening sensor 12 and a shift lever position sensor 13 are inputted into a microprocessor 90. The microprocessor 90 provides minute engaging force to a clutch when the clutch starts its engagement. The initial clutch control is carried out according to the speed variations of each shaft and the elapsed time at that time. After that, the clutch is controlled to a specific rate of sliding obtained from the number of revolutions of the each shaft and a specific rate of sliding according to the elapsed time. The clutch control is, when the vehicle starts, carried out in responce to the vehicle load and the engine power so that the starting acceleration can be smoothly performed.
