Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the speed reduction shock by blocking the shift-down control signal, during the decelleration of brake, and controlling the rotation of an engine. CONSTITUTION:Under braking operation, the control of engine speed is stopped at the shift down while the engine speed is controlled for predetermined time at the lock-up control then the engine speed and the torque controller output speed are combined to reduce the speed reduction shock. Assuming the gear ratio of the reduction gear is 1.3 while the torque converter output speed at the shift down is 1,300rpm, the engine speed must be brought to 1,690rpm (Curve II) during the speed change time DELTAT in order to prevent the variation of the car speed. While under the speed reduction through the brake operation, the car speed will drop during the time DELTAT (Curve III), thereby the increase of the engine speed will cause the acceleration during the speed change thus to produce the speed change shock. Consequently, in this case, the increase control of the engine speed is stopped.
