Abstract

A boiler, easily and cheaply installed in the hearth of a living room fireplace, so as to utilise the heat of burning wood, without interfering with the pleasurable radiation of the flames into the room, is formed by a rear section (1) with upper (5) and lower manifolds (6) joined by vertical circulating tubes (4). In front of the lower manifold (6) and connected to it, there is a horizontal circulating system. The vertical circulating system is arranged against an existing chimney back, the plate (1) being inclined forward to form a cowl (9) with the upper manifold, and enclosed at its sides by cheeks (7, 8). The horizontal section rests on the hearth, and includes a base plate (2) forming with a plate (3), a shallow vessel with a baffle 11), above which, conduits (10) joining the lower manifold, acts as the grate supporting the fule.
