Abstract

The clamping ring has a metal or synthetic material band with an end retainer, used to lock the band in any position along its length. The ring is used to tighten connections between natural or synthetic rubber hoses. The cloking device (3) encloses two overlapping ends of the metal band (2). A headless screw (4) is attached to the lock housing and is tightened so that its threads rest in slots spaced regularly and obliquely around part of the band circumference, starting from the outer free end. The locking device has a shallow bridge (6) against which the two overlying band sections are pressed on tightening the screw (4). The bridge (6) is trapped between two projections (7) on the underlying band end.
