Abstract

A cheap and simple pipe hanger and its clamp, made from strip metal, consist of a longer strip forming the hanger, made into a loop with two straight portions (10) extending from the loop, clamped together. The clamp is bent into a rectangular section tube to fit around the double thickness of the straight portions of the hanger, with the two ends (3, 4) overlapping and forming one of the longer sides of the rectangle. A hole is tapped through this overlap, and a screw (2) fitted, so that when the screw is tightened, it forces the two straight ends (10) against the back of the rectangle and bends them, so that they locate in a clearance hole (15) through the back of the rectangle.
