Abstract
1,001,519. Band clips. AEROQUIP A.G. Sept. 19, 1961 [Oct. 14, 1960], No. 33594/61. Heading E2B. A band clamp comprises an elongated flexible strap 10 having flanges 13, 14 extending outwardly from each end of the strap, the two flanges extending outwardly from the same face of the strap and being re-inforced by webs 15, 16 extending from the edges of the flanges to the adjacent part of the strap or a part secured thereto, and also having a cut-out 42 in one edge of the strap part way along from one of the ends thereof and a second cut-out 43 further along the strap, but in the opposite edge, and adjustable means for drawing the flanges towards each other when the strap is bent into two loops with one loop inside the other. The adjustable means is a bolt which either engages a nut or a threaded bore in one of the flanges. The nut is retained against rotation by the webs 15, 16; in a modification the webs have inwardly disposed detents which engage scallops in the nuts. The strap shown has strengthened ribs 50 and lips 54, 55 which hold the outer loop in place.
