Abstract

The self-locking clip consists of two semi-circular straps (1,2). One end of each strap is bent at right angles to form a lug which is provided with a hole for the tensioning screw (3). The other ends of the straps are provided with metal loops (4,5) through which the end of the opposite strap is threaded so that the straps overlap over a length (6). The strap (2) is provided with roughened surface or a series of parallel ridges. When the screw (3) is tightened, the strap (2) is pressed onto the strap (1) and both straps are pressed against the pipe surface. The roughened surface of the strap (2) prevents it slipping over the strap (1).
