Abstract

The screw operated shut off valve comprises a housing having two coaxial internally threaded bosses provided at opposite sides of the housing. The one boss has screwed thereinto a sub assembly comprising a closure member and its operating spindle. The other boss has screwed thereinto a hollow nipple whose end confronting the closure member constitutes a valve seat and whose other end has a thread for connecting the housing e.g. to a pipe. The spindle is operable to move the closure member onto the seat to close the flow path between the nipple and at least one other duct leading into the housing.
