Abstract

The valve is moulded from plastic in two halves, joined about the centre line. The spherical plu is also plastic and the component valve is used for air conditioning plants. A seal is provided between plug and body by fitting identical half linings of flexible elastomeric material. Each half lining is stepped in six diameters (R1 to R6) reducing progressively in steps from the joint line (B1) to the inlet or outlet aperture, with a number of annular shoulders. The spherical plug contacts these shoulders and is sealed against leakages around the sides. This contact is maintained in any operating position.
