Abstract

The segmental grinding wheel is designed to obviate uneven wheel or workpiece wear, and features radial ribs with outer abrasion segments which vary in width from one edge of the wheel to the other. Pref. the central width is greater than edge width or vice versa and the change in width is achieved uniformly. The abrasive segments typically have axial edges formed as different diameter arcs but may be straight edged or arrow shaped.
