Abstract

The process for the rectification of the peripheral surface of a grinding disc uses a rotary rectifying wheel of which the axis of rotation is perpendicular to that of the workpiece. During rectification the wheel is displaced transversely relative to the major faces of the workpiece and following a trajectory which defines the specified outline of the grinder periphery. If the required outline is a circular segment the wheel may follow a concentric path, and if the outline includes a straight section the wheel similarly may follow a path which is parallel to that section. Alternatively two rectifying wheels may be used, each acting on separate sections of the required profile, to obtain a profile contg. two sections of different radii.
