Abstract

The fluid heating system has a heat pump whose condenser is in heat exchange contact with the fluid to be heated, while the evaporator is in contact with one giving up heat. The latter fluid is the used water from a building, housed in a temporary storage tank connected to the main drain. The hot water storage tank can have the condenser mounted in it. The temporary drain water storage tank may comprise an internal cistern enclosed by an evaporator coil, this in turn being enclosed by a thermally insulating casing. The cistern can have an overflow connection to the drains.
