Abstract
The harness (1) is fitted with shoulder straps and a chest band. A plate (2), at chest level, carries a spring loaded drum (6) with a cord (3) threaded through a brake (5). This cord passes through a pulley block (4) on the wishbone (8, 9) steering arms of the sail-powered surfboard. The cord is clamped by a spring-loaded piston in the block. The action is controlled by a string (7) with a loop at the end. This is placed over the wrist and the spring loaded drum takes up the tension. The arms are left free of strain for steering only.
