Abstract

The terminal is mounted on a common back plate or circuit board with other terminals and has an insulating shell with extensions used to snap dit the terminal onto the common back plate. Cables to be connected have the insulated stripped from their ends which are then inserted through apertures (7) in the shell. A metal bridge with two claws is urged away from a connexion bar by a pair of coil springs, with the hooked ends of the bridge passing through the openions in the bar and engaging the undersurface of the bar. A tool inserted into the terminal is used to press one end of the bridge down so that the end of a cable may be inserted under the bar, the bridge then being released so that the hooked end of the bridge clamps the cable against the bar.
