Abstract

The folding caravan has fixed and movable portions, the former rigidly secured to the axle, while the latter is attached to it by two hinges running along the sides. The movable portion has two sections unfolding from a horizontal position into a vertical one and in the outwards direction. The sections are complementary to each other, being inscribed in a rectangle when folded. They are concave, to accmodate the furniture, and there are four pneumatic compensators at the corners, mounted near the hinges. The tops of the complementary sections are joined to a roof by lengthwise hinges, one on each side.
