Abstract

The caravan has a wheeled chassis with a hitch, supporting a floor to which the bottom portions of four walls are fixed. Four further wall portions support the roof, and lie in the same planes as the bottom portions, in the unfolded position, and the flat roof rests on the bottom portions when folded, the front and rear top wall portions sliding on it. Both these wall portions (4a, 5a) at front and rear, are coupled to the base portion (7) by one or more rams mounted outside the caravan. These each pivot on hinges on either side of the respective wall portions at one end, and at the other on horizontal spindles on the base, clear of their horizontal top and bottom edges.
