1483751 Toy caravans AIRFIX PRODUCTS Ltd 24 Jan 1975 [24 Jan 1974] 03433/74 Heading A6S A toy caravan has a base 10, a roof, end walls and drop-down side walls 14, 15 the latter attached to the base 10 by hinges 16, 17 and carrying one or more wheels 20, 21 such that they retract when the side walls 14, 15 are lowered. The roof and end walls may comprise a single curved item 11 having two slots at each end for securing corresponding tongues 31 on the base 10, a screw 32 at each end completing the assembly. Between each pair of hinges 16, 17 is a well 18, 19 having a rear wall 18a, (19a Fig 1, not shown) parallel to the side wall and carrying two wheels 20, 21 on stub spindles 22 normal to the walls 18a, (19a Fig.1 not shown). The base 10 also has wells 10a, 10b to accomodate the wells 18, 19 and the wheels 20, 21. With the side walls 14, 15 upright the wheels 20, 21 extend below the base 10 and the caravan may be towed by means of a hitch 23; with the side walls 14, 15 down the base 10, side walls 14, 15 and the ends of the spindles 22 are co-planar. Windows W and a door D in the side walls 14, 15 have frames which together with frames surrounding the wells 18, 19 project to raise the side walls 14, 15 and base 10 clear of the supporting surface. To keep the side walls 14, 15 upright each has a rib 24 near its upper edge for locating in a complementary groove 25 in each side of the combined roof-and-end-walls 11. Each side wall 14, 15 also has a lug 14a, 15a that snaps into a recess in the roof of 11. A table 27, seats 28, 28 swimming pool 29, platform 30 and diving board are fixed to the inner surfaces of the side walls 14, 15, the seats 28, 28 being formed with the window W as a single unit that is pushed through holes in the side wall 14, and the platform 30 formed similarly with the door D. A horizontal partition 26 within the caravan has depressions forming or holding beds. A ventilator 12 and end windows 13 are also provided.
