Abstract

The tool is used to cut the welding bead from the inner surface of longitudinally welded tubes, and there is a tool support (3) to which is attached a cutting tool (7) and which is fitted with attachments (11) by which it can be pulled through the tube. The support is slotted longitudinally (6) at just below centre line level forming tongues (4). The upper part and the tongues carry bearing pads (15, 17) of hardened metal. Adjusting screws (13, 14) enable the separation of the tongues and hence the pressure against the inner wall of the tube. The bearing pads are positioned and shaped so that the device can be guided over the weld line.
