Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the welding quality and efficiency of heat-resisting cast steel, by carrying out TIG welding continuously after carrying out plasma welding of initial layer on keyhole-shaped groove at a fixed velocity.
CONSTITUTION: Groove of the basic material is made keyhole-shaped groove, such as V-shaped or U-shaped etc. and opening part is filled up on and after the second layer continuoutly adding filler rod by automatic TIG welding after carrying out plasma welding of the initial layer at 50W80mm/min of welding velocity. By using jointly with the above plasma welding and TIG welding, welding of narrow groove having a good back bead shape, is made possible on occasion of carrying out welding of thick material and that of only one direction such as tube and also, weld strength is able to heighten by stabilizing microstructure of the initial layer.
