Abstract

Tilting hoist with a block and tackle for tilting a casting ladle has a lifting hook which engages with a side strap on the ladle. The lifting hook is located on a lever mounted on a pivot on the lower pulley block, and can be swivelled into the working position by the action of a counterweight. The lever is pref. an elbow lever, the hook being mounted on a pivot on one lever arm whereas the counter-weight is mounted on the other lever arm and raised by an independent cable, a standstill motor compensating for the counterweight; the cable is pref. fixed to the counterweight via a slot so the counterweight can pivot. This hoist can be located on the main crane crab and can be operated automatically to tilt a ladel suspended from the main crab.
