Abstract

1,007,404. Foundry ladles. O. ISENSCHMID. Jan. 1, 1964 [June 6, 19631, No. 39/64. Heading F4B. A casting ladle 11 is tiltably mounted in a ladle support 34 carried by a suspended chain tackle block 31 driven by an electric motor 4 hung from a cross-member 14 of a frame comprising other parts 12, 42 and 15. The frame is suspended by articulated rods 7, 37 and 9, 39 each pair being rigidly connected by transverse rods 23 and 10 respectively, fromacrossbar 1 of a crane crab 50, and the frame may be raised or lowered by means of an electric motor 3, also carried by the cross-bar, driving another suspended tackle block 27 connected by a drawhook 28 to the frame cross-member 14. The ladle is mounted in the support 34 by side trunnions 19, 49 and pivotally hinged at its lip 21 to the looped lower frame member 15 by lugs 16, 17 as illustrated in Figs. 1 and 3 (not shown) such that once the ladle lip has been positioned above a mould by raising or lowering the frame and by transverse movement of the crane, pouring is commenced by actuating motor 4 thus raising the block 31 and tilting the ladle about its pivoted lip.
