Abstract
1,163,567. Ladle teeming carriage. WELLMAN MACHINES Ltd. 24 May, 1968 [9 March, 1967], No. 11127/67. Heading F4B. A ladle teeming carriage comprises a wheeled rectangular chassis 1, 2, 3, which supports on its top surface by means of load cells 8 an open rectangular top-frame 7. Frame 7 in turn supports a ladle support frame 18 within which a bottom pour ladle 9 may be mounted from the top for teeming into an ingot mould 21. The suspension of ladle support frame 18 from top frame 7 is such as to allow both a vertical and a horizontal limited adjustment of the position of the ladle 9 relative to that of the ingot mould 21. Two parallel rotatable shafts 10, 11 mounted across opposed ends of the top frame 7 are interconnected at their ends by parallel lever linkages 12, 13 to ensure their synchronous rotation, on actuation of hydraulic rams 14 connected to the shaft 10 by short levers 15. The consequent rotation of the shafts causes movement of further levers 16 to which suspension links 17, carrying the ladle support frame 18, are pivotably secured to effect vertical adjustment of frame 18 and ladle 9. The horizontal adjustment is effected by actuation of rams 22 which push against frame 18 causing it and the ladle 9 to move sideways as the suspension links 17 swivel about their top pivots.
