Abstract

The folding cot is made from tubular and rod material and has a mattress support frame (10) with a hinge (9) across the middle. As the vertical ends (20, 21) are forced inwards together, the hinge is raised, and the two halves (11, 12) of this horizontal base frame (10) swing upwards until both halves are vertical and resting against one another and the bed ends (20, 21). The side frames (30, 32) unlatch at the centre, so that they may swing inwards and are similarly resting against one another and sandwiched between the bed ends. The two base halves carry hooks (17) which engaged the sides when in open position, so that the base frame is supported. In the folded position, these hooks are used to latch the frame together.
