Abstract
The windmill has two rotors (7) and (8) mounted with their axis vertical on a framework (9) attached to a vertical tube (2). The tube (2) is mounted on bearings on a tripod so that it is free to rotate about its vertical axis. The rotors (7, 8) are provided with curved vanes (5a 6a) and air is directed on to these vanes by a wedge shaped frame (9) and curved cowls (15, 16) so that the rotors rotate in opposite directions. The upper ends of the rotor shafts carry a pair of meshing gear wheels which drive a generator through the shaft (4) mounted inside the tube (2). The wedge frame (9) also serves to align the machine to face the wind.
