Abstract

The radial-piston machine is particularly for use as a hydraulic pump or motor, having pistons working in cylinders arranged round the shaft under the action of a cam keyed to the latter. The cylinders have spherical heads by which they bear against the housing, in which there are inlets and outlets for the fluid. The spherical surface forming the outer thrust face of each cylinder head (5) forms more than a hemi-sphere, and this head is secured in the housing by additional stops provided in the latter so that the head centre (C) is maintained in a fixed position in relation to the housing (6).
