Abstract

The vacuum produced by the vacuum unit (1) through air filter (3) in receptacle (2), results in a high degree of suction in narrow ducts (8, 11) and at nozzles (12) producing very efficient gathering of the grapes. This efficiency is augmented by valves which transmit suction alternately first to one and then to the other of the gathering nozzles. A blanking device (9) in the distributor produces a discontinuous suction, increasing the gathering efficiency still further. Damage to the grapes from the high suction is prevented by an expansion chamber (14). The grapes being conveyed to a container by means of an airlock and blower.
