Abstract

[Also in Division F1] A pneumatic gob-stowing apparatus comprises one or more vibrated shoots 3, adjustably mounted on a base frame 1, for feeding the gob to a compressed air injector 2 on the base frame. When a plurality of shoots in series is provided the shoot adjacent the injector is arranged to have a vibration of higher amplitude than the shoots further away from the injector to ensure a uniform supply of gob to the injector independently of the reserve capacity of the shoots. The injector, Fig. 3, comprises an intake duct 4 surrounded by an annular chamber divided by a wall 14 into a pressure chamber 15 and nozzle chamber 16. The wall 14 is provided with apertures 17 and the nozzle chamber 16 is connected to a diffuser 19 via an annular gap, the diffuser 19 being formed with water inlet apertures 21.
