Abstract

The device comprises parallel sides (2, 3) separated by a font spacer web (3) an intermediate spacer web (5) and a front spacer web (6). The rear web has a rounded lower edge (7) with a gap (9) between it and the intermediate web. The front web has a serrated upper edge (11) and a rounded lower edge (10) with a gap between it and the intermediate web. Front and rear lower edges rest on the surface of the roll which is held in the hand, the side forming guides. The end of the tape (16) passes through the first gap (17) and is pulled upwards and over the serrations to sever it. The tape sticks to the edge (8) of the intermediate web to hold the device on the reel of tape.
