Abstract

An acoustic and thermal insulating panel of an expanded plastic (e.g. polystyrene) has surface grooves pref. running longitudinally and laterally to form a square network, and a stiffening frame pref. in the form of a metallic grid is located in the square network of grooves. The panel which is large is used for cladding the walls of e.g. buildings particularly bungalows or cold rooms. The frame holds the large panel rigid and prevents it deforming.
