Abstract

The seed drill is supported on the ground on wheels (1, 2) and is attached to a tractor's three-point linkage. Seed drills (4, 5, 6, 7 etc) are mounted on the frame (3) and are spring-loaded. Above the drills is a container (8) on which are mounted seed-rollers (9) and which have holes for regulating the quantity of seed sown. The distance between each drill varies alternately. The distance between two shares of a pair is the same, e.g. eleven centimetres, and the distance between each pair of drills is larger, e.g. twenty-three centimetres. Plough-shares cover the soil over each drill-row and are positioned behind the seed drills.
