Abstract

The mechanism has a weather vane (13) which positions the blades relative to the wind. A main shaft (4) carries a revolving frame (3) on which are mounted the revolving blades. The blades run in bearings and are located by means of a gear and belt mechanism which drives a steering crank. The steering crank ensures that the rotor blades are normal to the wind during the power part of their rotation, but feather on the return. The blades are split horizontally and able to blow out in the event of gale force winds. The mechanism may drive any mechanical power generator.
