Abstract

The crutch has links (1) connected to a pivot pin on a slide working in the lengthwise direction of the stem. Each link has a brake shoe, which comes to bear against the top of each roller at the same time as the stem end bears against the ground. The pivot pin can be carried on a hub tilting when the crtuch is inclined and larger at the base. In tilting, the hub bears against one cross member above it on the left and a second one below it on the right, or vice versa. The design gives additional protection against slippage should the end of the stem become worn.
