Abstract

The ski boot and ski are designed for cross country work in which the front of the boot is attached to the ski but the heel is free to be raised or lowered. The boot has a solid heel (4), its walking surface having a central 60 deg. vee groove (5), positioned in line with the longitudinal axis of the ski. The forward portion is widened to prevent snow packing. This groove fits over a corresponding ridge (7) on the ski (1), this forming part of a plate (6) fixed to the upper surface. The ends of the ridge are inclined, again to prevent snow packing.
