Abstract

A ski boot has a special toe piece which can be gripped by the ski-binding which is fixed to the ski. To prevent any sideways movement of the ski-boot with respect to the ski, the sole of the ski-boot has a longitudinal groove of triangular cross-section which fits over a matching moulding fixed to the ski. This type of guide in no way affects the freedom of the user to flex the sole of his foot when engaged in cross-country skiing, but provides a firm fastening for the ski under normal conditions.
