Abstract

The ski boot is held onto the ski release bindings (2, 3) by placing the welt (15) of the toe (4) in a loop (12). The fixing is tensioned by means of a toggle catch (13, 14, 16) at the back. The boot has a two part reinforcement (5, 7), articulated near the instep. This reinforcement remains open for walking purposes and can be closed around the ankle and clamped (8) when in use with the ski. The lower portion of the front reinforcement has a radiused contour (9). When clamped on the ski, this operates a leaf spring and a shoulder (11) on the bindings' sole plate (3) to provide a firm location.
