Abstract

The brake is fitted to a ski and operates automatically when boot pressure is removed from a pedal. This causes an arm, previously lying parallel to the ski sides, to move downwards under spring pressure and dig into the snow. Each arm (2) has a flat-bottomed cutout (3) on its inner face (19), these being opposite each other when the arms are raised. When transporting the skis as a pair, the angled end (24) of each arm locates in a corresponding cutout in the matching arm of the other ski. The skis are held in alignment and their transportation is simplified.
