Abstract

In its folded form the tent comprises a shallow rectangular lidded container (30) which is fixed horizontally to the bars of the roof rack; and in its erected form a gable ended (33) ridge tent with the container base (30) forming the floor and bedding area. The tent envelope is fixed in its folded form to the base and once the lid is removed, erection is contrived simply by guying back the gable ends to e.g. the car's bumper bars. The envelope is formed of three pieces, i.e. two gable ends (33) and a roof and wall piece (35); this latter piece being fixed at three edges, to each gable and one floor edge. A door opening is pref. provided in the wall which is free w.r.t. the base. A mattress (36) is incorporated.
