Abstract

A pressurized endless belt screen for dewatering sludge in sewage treatment plant retains the sludge between two screen belts which pass between groups of stationary and spring-loaded pressure rollers. Two endless large-mesh support bolts are tensioned around the stationary pressure rollers to enclose the screen belts between them. The spring-loaded pressure rollers at the other side can be reciprocated along the line of stationary rollers. This combines a very effective dewatering of the filter cake with high belt screen velocities. The required degree of dryness is achieved at a high throughput.
