Abstract
A solar heating tube for using heat from the rays of the sun consists of an inner collector and an outer insulating tube of transparent material, the inner tube having feed and delivery openings at opposite ends for a heat absorbing medium to circulate through it, and a set of spacing rings between inner and outer tubes to form an insulating gap between them. A solar panel may incorporate a set of parallel tubes of this type, with collector tubes at right angles, across top and bottom. Alternatively, a serpentine inner tube may pass in and out parallel lengths of outer tube. Another unit is in the form of a pancake coil. A further design has a helical coil wound around a reservoir cylinder and a further design has radial loops extending from a reservoir cylinder.
