Abstract

1488812 Solar heating; water heating apparatus S A VINCZE 23 Sept 1974 41233/74 Headings F4U and F4A [Also in Division F2] A solar heating apparatus comprises a collector pipe 1 made of solar heat absorbing material and an insulator pipe 2 surrounding the collector pipe and spaced therefrom by spacing means 4a to form a closed thermally insulating chamber. The chamber may be filled with air, inert gas or it may be evacuated. A second insulator pipe (3, Fig. 1) may also be provided to form a further closed thermally insulating chamber. The spacing means may be in the form of radially projecting fins integrally extruded with the collector or with the insulator, or may be in the form of spacing rings 4a, or a helical coil (Fig. 2b, not shown). The solar heating apparatus may be utilized in a solar heating array (Figs. 4, 5, not shown) or in heating hot water (Figs. 7, 8, not shown) or may be located around a conical reflector 22.
