Abstract
The electric motor system incorporates a stator (2) and a rotor (3), in addition to a vibrator (7) operated by a piezo-electric device. The stator is in the form of a flat plate (10) mounted on a knife edge pivot (9) with electrodes (12) fitted on either side of the plate on the side remote from the rotor. The edge of the plate near the rotor carries a magnetic strip (18) which is energised intermittently to actuate the rotor (3) which is in the form of a hollow cylinder mounted on a concentric spindle (15) with end bearings (4) more elaborate devices use several strips or pairs of rotors revolving in opposite directions.
