Abstract

The clamping roll support system is used in straightening machines in which successive clamping rolls, which are connected by the strip to be straightened, are connected by a differential drive. The stretching and straightening machine has rolls (3, 4) which are driven by the main drive motor (5) whose drive shaft drives the differential drive via a pinion (7) and the compensating gear drive (9). The rotating speed of the roll (3) is given by the differential drive (10). The rotating speed compensation is carried out automatically when the rolls are coupled by the strip passing through them. Additional torque is fed into the system via the auxiliary drive (15) and the pinion (13) of the differential from a motor and the torque of the individual rolls can be modified to the given requirements by the auxiliary drive.
