Abstract

The shock absorbing clutch plate assembly comprises two coaxial parts with springs to limit the relative radial movement, and with an axial spring held between one of the side plates and a retaining plate. The axial action spring (33) is held between the side plate (19) and the retaining plate (34) so as to limit the axial movement between them by a number of studs (35) attached round the periphery of the retaining plate. These studs pass through holes (36) in the side plate (19), and are fixed in place by protrusions (42) on the ends of the studs deformed after assembly.
