Abstract

The extruded support profile (1) has, apart from various grooves and lugs for fixing elements two open sided axial grooves (14), the groove walls taking the form of five sides of a hexagon. At the profile extremity two hexagonal tapped inserts (2), with circular grooves (7), are inserted in the profile grooves until profile and insert extremities are flush. The wall of the profile is then distorted by punching to enter the insert grooves and lock them the inserts in position. The panel is then affixed to the profile end by two screws (4) passed through panel holes (5) and screwed into the inserts.
