A fitting suitable for a fluorescent tube 15 comprises an open-ended channel-shaped member defined by spaced side walls 2, 3 and an interconnecting web 1, a light-transmitting cover 4 closing the open side of the channel, and an open-ended duct 22 defined by a recess within the channel and a removable partition 25. The duct connects with corresponding ducts in similar fittings disposed end to end across a room and may be used to carry power cables and other services. The recess may be formed wholly in a side wall or in the web or partly in both of them. The partition consists of a plastics strip which resiliently engages ribs 24 on the channel.
