Abstract

The floor of the car is fitted with a fixed guide rail on which the seat slides with forward adjustment using a second rail. A spring-loaded lever on the second rail engages one of a set of locating holes in the fixed rail to secure the seat position. The seat back folds flat to gain access to the rear seats and this is simplified by linking the seat back hinge to a second sliding sleeve which is mounted over the movable guide rail and which is linked to the movable guide rail in such a way that when the seat is slid forward, the seat back automatically folds down.
