Abstract

A pre-tensed cable, for use in reinforced concrete and construction applications is mfd. by feeding the individual strands into a channel to be twisted into the rope, the projecting end of the bundle being rotated while the other end is left free to give the required free play for the strands to equalise their lengths. The system allows a short working length to be obtained without requiring a complex workshop and lifting gear.
