Abstract
Method comprises exerting a forging pressure on molten metal in a forging cavity and reducing the temp. of the cavity by means of cooling fluid passageways so that the molten metal is being cooled whilst the pressure is being exerted. The forging pressure is accomplished by pressure of the cooling fluid on the die parts of the forging cavity. the metal is held in the forging cavity, which may be pre-heated to a temp. slightly below the temp. of the molten metal, until solidified.
