Abstract

The tool is designed to remove electrical contact pins (10) which are held in an insulating block by sprung grips (31) or collars set in the insulator (20). The hand held tool operating from the rear of the insulator, is in the form of an outer metal or plastic tube (40) shaped and slotted at its gripping end such that it may be compressed. Inserting the tool pushes back the sprung grips (31) and grips the rear section (15) of the pin. The pin is ejected from the tool by a sprung central rod inside the tube. The gripping end of the tube may be serrated on its inner surface to engage with any further shoulders on the pin.
