Abstract

A central heating system for a house, includes a unit which is housed in the roof, with connections to extraction ducts in all the rooms underneath and further connections for supply ducts, and connections to inlet and discharge openings in the roof. By means of control flaps on the tubes to the roof openings, cold air can be drawn into a chamber in the unit which incorporates a tubular heat exchanger, and passed into another chamber with motor driven drum type fan which discharges the heated air into the rooms. This system supplies hot air in winter, and for summer use, cold air is drawn into another chamber separate from the heated chamber and circulated by another drum type fan mounted on the same shaft of the drive motor. The unit has thermostatically controlled electric heating elements in the heater compartment.
